🏳 Doing Our Part
Sunday Scoop #49 - I need your help for a live course that I'm running in the next 2 weeks or so. All proceeds are going towards the Bendera Putih Movement.
Hey friends,
Considering A-Levels are now over, I’ve intentionally allowed myself to give in to my inner waste-mannery and vegetate on the couch from time-to-time.
Whenever I decide to do so, I would inevitably end up going down the rabbit hole of Instagram/Twitter posts about the daily struggles of Malaysians coping with the pandemic lockdown.
It breaks my heart to see that while other countries are gradually recovering from the pandemic, our Rakyat can barely put food on the table and the light at the end of the tunnel doesn’t seem in sight just yet.
A silver lining:- I am ever so relieved and proud that Malaysians from all over the country are coming together to raise funds and run Food Drives (refer below) to help the underprivileged.
However, I would also like to do my part to give back to the community.
Admittedly, I’ve been venturing into more entrepreneurial opportunities and have not involved myself in charity projects as much as I would like to (my last being A2KI).
At the same time, I also refuse to simply crowdfund as I did with Afiq during Project KYVID. The thing with Project KYVID was that although we managed to raise MYR 11590 to help underprivileged families, I often feel ‘guilty’ - for a lack of a better word.
People may think that Afiq and I did a tremendous job but frankly, it wouldn’t be possible without the people who donated to the cause.
Ironically, these people will not be known as the main contributor to the project and the one-way-value-exchange just doesn’t sit right with me.
Hence, Afiq and I started A2KI as a way to crowdfund for underprivileged communities but also to give value to our donors.
Following that, I’m planning to run a series of live courses, teaching people skills that I’ve honed over the past few years. These skills, coupled with serendipity, allowed me to pioneer a few initiatives that I hope in one way or another brought value to the community around me.
My current ideas include:-
Notion
ANKI
Web Design
Behind the Scenes of ASTRA (How to pioneer a startup as a student)
I’ve also posted a story asking for ideas for live courses to run.
If there’s something you’d like me to teach, feel free to reply to the story I posted and I’ll do my best to make it happen!
🔌 Quick Plug
I also have a Junior that compiled A2 physics definitions (with numerous answering techniques) and would like to sell them at a minimum of RM3, with all proceeds going to The Salvation Army.
If you’re interested to join, simply fill up this form and he’ll email you the files soon enough!
Looking forward to run the live courses alongside a few other projects 👀
Have a productive and happy week ahead.
